The Significance of Christian Education
Christian Education is very important for raising future generations with values like honesty, responsibility, and faith. It helps children and young people grow in both learning and in their spiritual life, so they can make a positive difference in their families, schools, churches, nations, and the whole world.
Dream Wave Christian Education (DWCE) is a value-based curriculum that focuses on discipling children for intentional spiritual growth. It is not only about gaining knowledge, but also about building strong character, teaching responsibility, and guiding them to live faithfully with God.
Christian Education is a pathway that prepares young hearts and minds to live with purpose, lead with faith, and serve others with love.
Through the Dream Wave Christian Education (DWCE) department, Friends International supports this mission by ensuring access to the Word of God and nurturing young people as godly leaders. DWCE emphasises character formation, excellence, and opportunity—raising a generation ready to serve both Uganda and the global community, Mathew 28:19-20.
Target Group
The Dream Wave Christian Education (DWCE) program is a value-based curriculum designed to support children and youth across three key educational stages:
PRESCHOOL
PRIMARY SCHOOL
SECONDARY SCHOOL
DWCE connects the home, school, and community to provide holistic learning that nurtures character, integrity, and purpose. By engaging young people consistently throughout their formative years, the program ensures they are well-prepared to grow into responsible citizens and future leaders.
What we exist for:
The Dream Wave Christian Education (DWCE) program nurtures the holistic growth of children and youth by integrating faith, character, and learning. It guides students in spiritual formation through Scripture, prayer, and worship, while instilling values such as honesty, compassion, respect, diligence, humility, and responsibility. At the same time, DWCE fosters intellectual curiosity and excellence, encouraging students to explore God’s truth across all areas of study. By shaping a Christian worldview, the program empowers young people to engage society with integrity and wisdom, preparing them to live lives that reflect Christ’s love, serve others, and make meaningful contributions to their communities and the world.
The Goal:
The goal is to ensure that young people engage deeply with the entire Bible at least three times before reaching adulthood, thereby strengthening their understanding of God and His works and passing this knowledge from one generation to the next, as emphasized in Psalm 78:4: “We will not hide them from their children; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, His power, and the wonders He has done.”
DWCE gives every child an opportunity to interact with, and be impacted by God's word
from infancy to adulthood. Every six years the child explores the Bible significantly at their
level of understanding.
ONE POINT MINISTRY
One Point Ministry is an approach that unites all generations around a shared foundation of learning and values. Connecting the home, school, and community, it ensures that children and youth are equipped for the future while fostering meaningful relationships with older generations.
This model of service delivery emphasises inclusivity—no child is left behind—and strengthens the bonds between families, schools, and faith communities (Churches). It provides every child with the opportunity to grow in knowledge, character, and purpose, while drawing on the wisdom and guidance of those who came before them.
